Preamble

المقدمة

Sheikh Uthaymeen Quranic School (SUQS) is established as a Quranic boarding institution dedicated to the memorization, understanding and practice of the Noble Qur'an guided by Islamic morals, discipline and sound education.

These Rules are intended to regulate the administration, discipline, welfare and academic life of SUQS. These Rules shall bind the School Management, Staff, Students, Parents/Guardians and all persons engaged in the affairs of the School.

Part I

Governance & Authority

  1. The overall authority of SUQS shall vest in the School Management which shall be responsible for policy direction, oversight and safeguarding the Islamic objectives of the School.
  2. The School Management may appoint a Head of School, Administrators or Committees as may be necessary for the effective running of the School.
  3. School Management and staff shall act in accordance with Islamic principles, applicable education regulations and these Rules.
Part II

Functions & Powers of Management

The School Management shall:

  • a Determine and enforce School policies, rules and code of conduct.
  • b Supervise academic, religious and boarding programmes.
  • c Appoint, discipline, suspend or dismiss staff in accordance with due process.
  • d Establish disciplinary committees for students or staff where necessary.
  • e Ensure the safety, welfare and moral upbringing of all students.
  • f Enter into agreements, partnerships or arrangements necessary for the advancement of the School.
Part III

Parent / Guardian-School Agreement

Nature of the Agreement

Admission of a child into SUQS shall be subject to a binding Parent/Guardian-School Agreement by which Parents/Guardians expressly agree to be bound by these Rules, the Code of Conduct and all lawful decisions of the School Management.

Obligations of Parents / Guardians

  • Support the School in enforcing discipline and Islamic morals.
  • Respect the authority of teachers, administrators and the School Management.
  • Accept corrective disciplinary measures taken in accordance with these Rules.
  • Visit and communicate with the child in accordance with School policies.
  • Disclose any medical, behavioral or learning conditions affecting the child.
Part IV

Student Responsibilities & Conduct

General Duties

  • Fear Allah and uphold Islamic character in conduct, speech and behavior.
  • Respect teachers, staff, fellow students and visitors.
  • Dedicate themselves to Qur'an memorization, revision and study.
  • Observe punctuality in prayers, classes, meals, rest and other sanctioned activities.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Engage in fighting, stealing, bullying or disobedience.
  • Leave the School premises without permission.
  • Possess money, mobile phones or prohibited items without authorization.
  • Damage School property or engage in immoral behaviour.

Discipline shall be corrective, educational and Islamic in nature. Corporal punishment causing injury, humiliation or harm is prohibited. Serious misconduct may result in suspension or withdrawal subject to School Management approval.

Part V

Staff Responsibilities & Code of Conduct

Duties

  • Uphold Islamic ethics, professionalism and integrity in all dealings.
  • Teach and supervise students with mercy, patience and fairness.
  • Attend classes, prayers and duties punctually.
  • Protect students from harm, abuse or neglect.

Prohibited Acts

  • Insult, humiliate, exploit or physically abuse students.
  • Strike sensitive body parts or cause wounds, fractures or fear.
  • Deny students food, water, toilet access, rest or medical care.
  • Lock up, restrain or unlawfully punish students.

Breach of duties may result in warnings, salary deductions, suspension or termination. Serious misconduct shall be reported to School Management and where necessary, lawful authorities.

Part VI

Responsibilities of the School

  • Provide safe boarding accommodation, classrooms, toilets and learning facilities.
  • Ensure access to Qur'anic education, basic welfare and moral guidance.
  • Maintain transparency in administration and finance including receipts.
  • Make School Rules accessible to staff and parents/guardians.
  • Provide emergency response by contacting parents, health services or other appropriate authorities.
Part VII

Disciplinary Procedures

  • Matters shall be handled fairly, confidentially and proportionately.
  • A disciplinary committee may be constituted for serious matters.
  • Decisions shall be guided by justice, mercy and the best interest of the student.
Part VIII

Commencement & Amendment

  • Rules take effect once approved by the School Management.
  • May be amended where necessary for the welfare of the School.
  • Amendments shall be communicated to Parents/Guardians and Staff.
